Perfect Plaid | Bernie Dexter

Perfect Dress - Courtesy of Bernie Dexter
Necklace - Vintage
Stockings - eBay
Shoes - Spendless Shoes

I love plaid in Autumn and find this to be such a gorgeous and flattering dress. I wore it with my green trench coat and it looked nice when it peaked out when the wind started to hit (that blog post to come soon). The skirt on this particular dress has lining and I always love the belts that come with Bernie Dexter dresses, they are great to use with other outfits too.
I think this plaid dress would even look great styled for Christmas at the end of the year, last time I blogged the perfect dress in the yellow roses print. I am wearing size small and the dress runs true to size.

I had fun as always with Renee yesterday; we walked by the waterfront, took outfit photos for each other and had coffee... A good way to spend Saturday. This was then followed by chats with her cat who I haven't seen for a while.

Dark lips has been something new I have been enjoying over the last couple of months and this particular shade goes really well with the plaid. The dark shades give a great vampy look for Autumn and Winter. I am wear DOO-BAI by Australis.

It has been over a month since Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival now, this was my second year and I had a great time once again. I went with my bestie Renee and our boyfriends who were very patient and took a lot of photos for us! Renee is also wearing a Bernie Dexter dress, click through to her blog to see some more photos.

I always like to enter the best dressed competitions and to my excitement I placed 1st in the Miss Modern Day competition! For weeks I planned on wearing a different Bernie Dexter dress and about 10 minutes before leaving I grabbed four other dresses or so and kept changing, in the end I went with one of my favourites.

It was a bit of chaos as I changed my mind, but I definitely made the right decision in the end... It actually made the day even more exciting to just go with the flow and pick whatever felt good on the day.

Everyone looked amazing at the festival, I met some wonderful people and looked at all the stalls.

Lianna Rose was also performing on the main stage before the best dressed competitions, she is a really great musician, Renee and I were lucky enough to be in her film clip for Willy Wagtail late last year!

If you haven't been to Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival I highly recommend going as it is such a fun event that runs over a few days, I usually attend Sunday. Don't forget your parasol for any festival, the weather is usually always so hot!!

The Perfect Match!

Dress - Courtesy of Bernie Dexter (Available here)!
Shoes - Vivienne Westwood for Melissa

I realise I only just blogged this dress at the end of March, so I am keeping it short and sweet (see previous post here).

I have been wanting these particular shoes for many years and I was lucky enough to find these amazing cherry shoes last week online, for a very good price too (double yay)! I am over the moon and instantly paired them with this Bernie Dexter cherry print dress!

It is a match made in heaven!

Blue Gingham and Love Hearts

Dress - Elise Design

My gorgeous friend Renee let me borrow her gingham dress recently and I decided to match my new and very loved shoes with it, I just love the way they look with this dress. You may remember my Elise Design dress that I blogged about a couple of months ago (see here).

Harlow took these photos and then I insisted that she borrow my dress for a couple of months!

I have started collecting Melissa shoes after dreaming of them for years and years and I have become obsessed, they are such beautiful shoes! I think I will dedicate a blog post to them soon.

Amongst the Roses | Part 1

Outfit details from left to right: Harlow in Trashy Diva, Renee in Bernie Dexter and Kayla (me) in Retrospec'd

A couple of weekends ago I got to hang out with my best friends in Sydney. Harlow (You may already know her blog quite well) and I first became friends a few years ago from blogging and Renee (check out her new blog) and I met as our boyfriend's have been friends for years and we instantly clicked a few years ago. I am very lucky to know these two wonderful women!

We walked around the city together all weekend and hung out in the Botanic Gardens, Renee recently bought a polaroid camera so I had to snap a photo of the photo of course!

It was lovely to have girl time, take lots of photos together and eat great food! I don't live far from the city but every time I make the trip there I always see the beauty of Sydney and it's even more enjoyable when wearing a great outfit with fabulous friends.

Baby Blue in Darlinghurst

Dress - Tara Starlet
Shoes - I Love Billy
Stockings - eBay

Here is another outfit from my weekend in the city with Harlow and Renee, every time I am in the city I always enjoy looking at the old terrace houses, unique buildings and laneways. I loved this gorgeous location in Darlinghurst so I stopped to get some photos on the way to dinner.

This dress is such a gorgeous 1940's style cut and it the perfect shade of blue! Harlow gave me this lovely dress and we spoke about how it reminds us of Barbarba Stanwyck in Double Indemnity (one of my favourite films and actresses)!

I can't wait to wear this dress again and again, it is such a classic!
