Rainy Days in Pink

Marlene Trench Coat and Gingham Bonnie Cigarette Pants - Collectif
Shoes - Wittner
Umbrella - Forever New

With the rain that we had earlier in the week I needed an outfit to brighten up the gloomy weather and I couldn't help but pair my coat and gingham pants together. I love that this coat is a dusty pink, it makes the coat easy to style and wear with basically anything without which I always find important when buying coats. I wear my green version of this trench coat so much that I had the grab this one before it was too late - as the Collectif Marlene coats are showerproof and are quilted on the inside... I find them to be nice and warm!

It's not long until the weekend and I am hoping that I can finish a sewing project that I would like to take away with me next weekend... Fingers crossed I finish it on time!

Sunshine and Plaid

Perfect Plaid Dress - c/o Bernie Dexter
Bolero - Collectif
Shoes - I Love Billy
Necklace - Vintage

On Monday I celebrated my anniversary with Max, we had a lovely meal by the the water and went for a walk afterwards. It was a beautiful sunny day to celebrate all of the fun and love we have shared together over the years! I wore one of my favourite Bernie Dexter dresses and paired it with a red bolero for a bit more warmth.

Today I was supposed to attend the Fifties Fair, unfortunately there has been a lot of heavy rain and the event had to be cancelled due to public safety. I will definitely be wearing my outfit out soon and will be sure to blog it!

A Mod Dress and a Bright Coat

Dress - Pop Boutique
Coat - Target
Shoes - Novo
Headscarf - Thrifted
Bag - Gift

On Saturday I woke up, took the dogs for their morning walk and we were greeted by a friendly neighbourhood cat... After breakfast I thought, "mod it is" and grabbed this fabulous little dress from my wardrobe. This was then followed by playing around with my hair and make-up before heading out the door with my trusty orange coat and bag.

I then hung out with Renee which involved coffee, lunch, chit-chat  and snapping some photos of our outfits. I always feel the need to jump into weird poses when in one of my mod dresses and I'm not complaining, they suit my need-to-dance-around-at-any-moment personality quite well... As I find the whole style to be fun and very daring.

This weekend I will be attending the Fifties Fair, it was so much fun last year! Maybe I will see you there!

Starlet Fever

Sash - From another dress
Petticoat - Hell Bunny
Shoes - Melissa + Vivienne Westwood
Gloves - Vintage
Beaded Purse - Vintage
Earrings - Vintage

Starlet Fever is a fabulous and relatively new brand to the vintage scene. I was kindly sent this amazing 100% silk gown and was impressed by the quality and workmanship of this Australian made garment.

Starlet Fever has a strong focus on everyday wear, sassy wiggle dresses, separates and captivating formal gowns.. Each garment has it's own size chart which makes choosing a size easy and not so stressful when online shopping. I am wearing size 10 and have pulled it in with my own sash, size 8 will be coming soon too!

The Wilhelmina is lined and just such a pleasure to wear, it is very reminiscent of a dramatic vintage gown. This of course doesn't require a petticoat but I couldn't help but emphasise how lovely and full the actual skirt of this dress is.

There is something special about clothing that makes you feel on top of the world and Starlet Fever definitely does that!

Find Starlet Fever on their Website/Facebook/Instagram.

Vivid Dreams in Starry Boutique

Cardigan - Target
Skirt - c/o Starry Boutique
Shoes - Kmart
Brooch - Vintage

Sometimes I love to just throw on a cardigan or t-shirt and tuck it into a great skirt... It's quick, easy and a sophisticated look. I have been so busy the last fortnight that it is a great way to bring some instant glamour when short for time.

The Vivid Dream skirt from Starry Boutique is vibrant and easy to style, and I love the way it stands out when paired with a dark top. The skirt features a side zip and elastic towards the back of the waistband for added comfort. Last time I blogged about Starry Boutique I was wearing the fabulous Neapolitan dress, which I can't wait to style again in summer, see the post here

Have a great week!

Room Tour | Sewing/Wardrobe/Office

This is a long overdue post... Welcome to my all-in-one sewing room, dress room and office! I spend a lot of my time making garments, writing my blog posts + online shopping and planning my outfits!

I thought it would only be fitting to wear a me-made dress along with my Deer Arrow sewing machine brooch that Renee gifted me recently!

The gingham matching gypsy top and skirt set on the mannequin is also something I have sewn, I made Harlow one too and plan on making Renee one in the next month or so!

Brooch: Deer Arrow

Some of my vintage and reproduction patterns... I just keep buying them.

Standing in front of the computer desk and waving to you all, well... I was really just waving to myself at the time haha.

This dress was made with the Butterick B5882 pattern... It was quite a challenging pattern with the pleated bust inserts, however, once I got past that it all came together and I'm quite pleased with the end result. I would love to try it again!

Wardrobes make good backgrounds and my Fitbit that I'm always wearing!

My Precious shoes that I like to change around on the shelf, I also like to put a different outfit on the mannequin each week or fortnight when I am not working on a project.

Vintage purses, Sun Jellies and more shoes...

I am currently working on a gypsy top with pom poms!

I made Barbie a matching dress last year that was featured in The Hell Bunny Rag magazine, see the post here!
She stands next to some of my vintage fashion and sewing books.

Ric-Rac, trimmings and random tins for storing them in (which I intend to cover some with scrap fabric).

I do store a lot of my clothes in my bedroom wardrobe but like to keep particular ones in this room. There are quite a few me-made outfits that I never get around to posting about but I will get them on the blog soon. I hope this was somewhat interesting as I always enjoy room tours by other bloggers. Maybe I will do a video at some point too.
